What is aeration and why do it?

Mechanical aeration is the process of physically puncturing soil in order to facilitate the transfer of oxygen, water and other nutrients to the roots of your turf grasses. The process of aeration also loosens compacted soils to promote growth of all plant life.

Arthurs Turf Management only performs core aeration.  Core aeration is the process of puncturing soils and removing a small plug of soil many times over the entire area to be serviced.  This type of aeration creates a larger puncture in the soil for better transfer of nutrients without micro compaction.  Mechanical Core Aeration is a IPM best practice and a critical component of holistic weed control and turf health programs.
